What is classed as reasonable time for a fact finding interview?
I am to be hauled in for a fact finding interview for an absence that happened a month and a half ago, which they claim is unauthorised and that I never informed them off, even though my partner phoned the depot as I couldn't!

If your conduct is considered unsatisfactory then, some sort of action should be taken within two working days of them realizing what’s happened.

Re: Reasonable Time?
RM's definition of 'reasonable time' is ... as and when it suits them!
The purpose of a fact-finding interview is to ascertain and establish the facts prior to consideration of pursuing the matter further.
I would suggest you contact your Area Rep/Branch, in the absence of a Unit Rep, to clarify the position if the delay is causing you concern. As a Rep, I would argue that 3 days maximum is ample time to arrange a 'fact-finding' interview, irrespective of the seriousness and complexity involved.
You may find relevant information among the various downloads available in the 'download' section.
The longer the delay, the greater chance of memory loss on the part of witnesses and yourself

Re: Reasonable Time?
Thanks. I will be seeing my Rep tomorrow about it as my main issues are that they were informed in time and the time that has passed since then. I would of done it today, but the letter was posted through my letter box late afternoon rather than giving me it this morning!

Why don't you just leave it mate. See if they eventually remember and make themselves look stupid by bringing the matter up after so long, in which case complain that they've given you stress.
