Name Offices that did not strike

Post by Wild Cat »

It's time we let everyone know who is supporting the strike and who isn't.

Letchworth SG6 most people worked.

Ware SG11/12 2/3 worked.

Royston SG8 most people worked.

Only 20% of staff worked according to Royal Mail. As long as that number stays strong I can't see the point of worrying about individual offices.

Its bad enough for some being bullied at work by the manager..now the bloody cwu members are at it..look you chose to strike because of what you believe in...I/some chose not to because of what i/we believe in..wish you lot would lighten up and stop dictating...

I/we could argue that you that are striking are causing this company alot of damage..Ive heard there are lots out there that did NOT want to go out but felt if they didnt they would get stick from fellow workers seems they are right.

Except the inevitable striking will not change a thing it will just cause alot of hardship for some with the pay loss (except the top union guys.they may even get bigger houses :shhhhh ) ..grievance for others due to bullying..loss of public support etc etc

The RM workers are not the only ones having a hard time of it..watch the news every part of the working sector is being effected with pay cuts/freezes..job losses

Will say it one more time..The union has no power..those days are gone !!

Yes it sucks lots of things about this country do.. top of my list. The labour party

And before some bright spark accuses me of being a manager NO I am not, I get s**t too,i hate the heavy works loads more so when Im told mail is light..fighting for pay..being lied too etc etc ...I`m not even anti union, I would be out there waving a a flag, burning effigies of :mfo :cfo ,getting a brew on..if i thought it would change anything but I know it wont...

Bottom line is we/everyone needs a general election to get this s**t out of power until then nothing will change..

And if you think the alternatives will be any easier to deal with then you really are Fluffy.

If the union has no power, why did Mandy not get his (part) privatisation bill through.Lots of little people standing together does make a difference.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

If you used your brain, you would see exactly what is happening in the business, it has moved from a public service to a profit based business feeding fat cats at the top, they achieve in running our business into the ground by employing bullyboy managers who dictate to people who have been performing their jobs for the last 20/30 years..They allow our competitors to cream our business, they pay their bullyboy managers £1000s in bonuses rewarding their slash and cuts..How very dare you suggest we have no brains, I am educated to degree level however choose to stay in the role I perform, one thing is certain I have pride and dignity and will not allow some bullyboy to dictate to me and I will stand with my fellow colleagues on a picket line to raise awareness to this serious issue :evil/mad

If i read your post correctly you believe we have a reason to fight,"i hate the heavy works loads more so when Im told mail is light..fighting for pay..being lied too etc etc ..."
You would be willing to fight"I`m not even anti union, I would be out there waving a a flag, burning effigies of ,getting a brew on"
But you won't fight because you do not believe we can win."if i thought it would change anything but I know it wont..."

This is unfortunately an all to common attitude in a country that seems to accept defeat is if they deserve little else.
Look around you say everyone is suffering. Many are but they all have the same choice to accept or to put up at least a token fight.

So when you/the UK public get this s**t out of power and the Conservatives in, what do you think is going to happen to Royal Mail and YOUR job?
FLUFFY wrote:you use brawn.. I`ll use brains ta mate
What are you doing to do, imagine you've got a great job for life? I don't think you're using your brains at all, and if you think the Conservatives getting into power is going to do you any favours you're literally insane.

100,000 workmates are trying to do you a favour right now, the least you could do is join them instead of carrying on taking your pay and then reaping the benefits.

Is it not a democratic society that we live in today and not the dark ages of the ealry to mid eighties. It should be up to the individual whether he/she states fit to take official industrial action. Name and shame is not going to solve anything it is only goin to cause more resentment between us all that do the job day in day out. :Applause

The fact is they want a casualised part time work force with the majority of staff being part time. If you need the money now what are you going to do if/when RM hits you with compulsary redundancy or reduction of hours? Anyone who doesn't support the strikes are deluding themselves and should be kicked out of the union if they are a member. It would be nice if they were not given the benefits of our strike too, give them basic redundancy etc. they don't deserve ANYTHING that we achieve from this dispute.
