WHY WE ARE IN DISPUTE
Royal Mail has breached the 2007 Pay and Modernisation Agreement by imposing route revisions, shift changes, driving up workloads and slashing jobs, while refusing to negotiate.
The company has imposed a pay freeze, despite making £321 million in profit this year.
Royal Mail say that we are under worked and over paid and claim that mail volumes have fallen by around 10% but they don’t say is that has been over 60,000 job losses over the past few years, which means the postie workload has increased by over 30%.
Royal Mail has run the service into the ground with their slash and burn policy in search of profit.
They are hell bent in smashing the CWU, in a leaked document the clearly stated they will press on without the CWU and withdraw from all national agreements.
They have set work rates which are completed unachievable with walking speeds that athletes could not achieve.

What we want
For a properly funded public owned postal service run for the needs of the public and not only for profit.
A properly negotiated modernisation agreement which will deliver a modern postal service which will improve the service to the public and improve terms and conditions for postal workers.

As the person who has planned the meeting we have no attention of calling off the meeting, even if the strikes are called off there will not be a final agreement by thursday
