Reasons for going in yesterday

Aww, boo hoo, a house to build, I've only got a mortgage to pay and mouths to feed and etc etc - just like everyone else. But I didn't go in, nor will I be doing next week. And I can hold my head high when I go back to work knowing I'm fighting for a good cause, not like those that go in with poor excuses, they deserve to be s**t on.

Two in our office said they can't afford to strike - one worked his day off on OT (thurs), plus did half a walk all week inc today, so will take home around £400.

The other also has another job in the afternoons, has a wife with a good job and they have 3 cars between them, incuding 2 that are less than 2 years old.

Two others are so thick skinned they try and talk to you as normal, and one seemed suprised when I repeatedly ignored him when he tried to talk to me this morning. He was in early this morning, threw some mail in then I overheard him on IPS saying he wasn't putting any more in - he was tied up and gone for 8.20, leaving 60%+ of the walk for the guy who's on it Monday.

And last but not least, is the driver who's day off it was and he went in on OT yesterday. Now that is the lowest of the low.

5 is not bad out of an office of over 150 though, an office which runs well and P&M hasn't ruined (yet!).

One of those that worked yesterday in my DO threw my round in. I have two issues with that, I don't want a strike breaker going anywhere near my frame and more importantly the tosser threw half of it in wrong!

So I spent twenty minutes at the end of my walk, cycling around delivering these missorts in the pouring rain!

Can I actually ask my DOM that nobody throws my mail in?

I was lucky today because the missorts weren't for any bad drops but I have the hill from hell with lots of big long drives on my walk and don't particularly want to have to be going back to them after i've already been there once. I also don't want to take the mail back and have a bollocking for something that isn't my fault.

Strike was supported by 95% of our DO.

Unfortunetly the small rural offices that surround us decided to work because everything is 'peachy' in their offices.

Still wonder how they'll feel when all three of them are closed and absorbed into, Kendal, Carnforth and Ulverston!

Some of our walks were thrown in yesterday (mine wasn't!) - one of my mates from my office who'd had a box of walksort thrown off texted me after he'd finished delivering - he had 37 missorts put in his frame He didn't deliver them though, and neither should you have. You should have written MS on them and sent them back, you didn't missort them.

If he's got enough to pay for a new build then fair enough, he's obviously got some cash, but to break the strike for the sake of a days wage

absolute bollox if you have that amount of money then stop using Royal Mail as a tax scam as there is plenty of ordinary working class people out there gagging for a job, this tosser should join this w****r :mfo and this w****r :cfo for christmas diner

What difference does it make if he's building his own house? Why must he be on great money if he's building his own house? Surely he's saving money by doing that, rather than buying new from Wimpy or whoever? Do you have to live in a council house just because you are a postman?
