Re: not talking
We've agreed to any talks with no conditions, Royal Mail wants the threat of strikes removed, but seeing as the strikes are whats getting them to take us seriously that aint going to happen. Only presssure from above will get Royal Mail around the table. Shame Mandy seems to have ulterior motives.

Re: not talking
This is only my opinion but the CWU have said we will talk at ACAS with no strings and no no go areas. Royal Mail have said they will go to ACAS but only if we suspend strikes AND they wont talk about changes already made.
So................ who needs to make a concession remembering that any that the CWU make so we can go to ACAS will have direct and long lasting implications on us.

Re: WHY THE SILENCE ?
Our area rep visited our line yesterday and his information was that they were going back in.... his own opinion was that this dispute would be over sooner rather than later, and that next weeks Saturday walkout may not even come to pass.

Re: not talking
Surely, if recent reports are accurate, Royal Mail were offered the NO STRIKE for three months moratorium, while talks were ongoing and repeatedly declined it.
Now they seem to be backing themselves into a corner they want the strikes called off so they go can go to ACAS and talk some of the rubbish that they are releasing out into the media, knowing full well that if those talks break down it will most likely be after Christmas before furthrer industrial action is implemented.

The CWU offered this before the results of the National Ballot were known, but Royal Mail were hoping for a No vote and then they would have brought out the really big stick to beat us with!
Royal Mail have stated that they have negotiated with the Union for on 80 occasions so far, but most of that was them just stating parts of the 2007 agreement and ignoring the phase 4 part.

Re: not talking
Yep as per News thread both sides going to TUC next week. I am just hoping that the solid strikes over Thu/Fri brought someone to their senses.saga wrote:Behind the scenes, things are moving......

We cannot use Royal Mail and senses in the same context heheTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Yep as per News thread both sides going to TUC next week. I am just hoping that the solid strikes over Thu/Fri brought someone to their senses.saga wrote:Behind the scenes, things are moving......
