Why am i working tomorrow while majority are striking?

Post by shrew1 »

As our delivery office is also part of a mail centre, us on deliveries have been out on strike today. I going to find it very awkward delivering tomorrow with people thinking i'm a strike breaker. The reason we've been given is that if we went on strike on a different day to the mail centre we would each have to cross the other function's picket line. It's obvious we all know who works in each function though....so can't really see why we can't be on strike the same day as most national delivery staff. any thoughts?

Same boat mate. Not looking forward to getting abuse tomorrow after reading some of the stuff people have been putting up with today.
Funnily enough yesterday our DOM told us we were on strike tomorrow, presumably to make us cross picket lines today. Cheeky f****r. Didn't wash though.

i would much rather be out the same time as all the other delivery offices, would make it much easier as the general public don't understand the difference between mail centres, delivery offices and mc combined with do.

At least there will have been a backlog created by the combination of your office taking action alongside the mail centre - cant help keep thinking the CWU's strategy is poor - we can hurt them much more when the outlet strikes first. Its a shame there are not more delivery offices combined to the MC's at mo, however a simple strike strategy alteration would have a massive impact.

I think you'll find that you're the one who applauded calling someone a 'hun' and then you call someone else a bigot :hmmmm I've lived through 40 years of killings, bombings and shootings because people couldn't see what they were doing was inflaming the situation and I certainly don't want to every go through that again.
