so 30,000 casuals are gonna come in and save RM's bacon. We've had casuals for months (London office). We've currently got a list of well over 100 casuals to never be employed again. Reasons - theft, agressive attitude, dumping of mail etc.
So we are supposed to be scared that RM spend s**t-loads of money employing thousands of casuals to cover the strike? 90% are totally clueless. I am not racist but most cant speak English.
I hear radio phone-ins on my walk and the general banter is that if the posties dont want the job the x-million unemployed would gladly take it! One week and theyd be gone. Rain and shine, snow and hail. Fill out P739s; Knowing what what that that means. Dont make me laugh!!!

News is that the security checks are a mare, there are only a few hundred available to work anyway.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Wasting millions of pounds on 30,000 temp workers will end up being more costly than the Industrial Action!

I was under the impression that these 30,000 temps were not going to be strike breakers. while watching t.v .tonight, they were filmed working today at the scab outhouses.

Re: 30,000 Casuals
Another thought i've just had is,i thought the 30,000 temps were for back log work only.I work in Mount Pleasent and our fresh foreign inward mail, which has just arrived in the country is going to Dartford, why? This is not backlog mail and we could easily process it.
