Today we communicate

Post by rhino49 »

Billy Hayes yesterday suggested that customers get out and talk to their postman and woman and find out what is really going on. Many of our personal domestic customers and not just a few of our business customers really do want to hear our opinions. We have generally very good relationships with the people we deliver to everyday and the trust that has built up, sometimes over many years of service to them will be invaluable in their acceptance of our point of view.

This is a real opportunity for creating goodwill for our position and I for one will not be bothered about giving time to talk to people who want to know and I will consider it "my "time and not claim for it.

Despite the fact that in my case I work in an office with a benign management team who are not bad people to work with, I and my colleagues (and our office management team) have to put up with unrealistic pressures and poor support in doing our jobs and the constant pressure to reduce and constantly change those jobs does not allow us to deliver the service we should be able to.

We all have a story to tell - tell it politely, without rhetoric and make us some new friends out there today.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile
