Dirty Mail

After our second shift on the ips today (where they pumped out all kinds of heavy mail sort items) the second lorry arrived. it was driven my a manager, and it contained more mail/packets and our second lot of mec boxes. the managers expertly wheeled them down to thier appropriate areas and shouted that "they are there to do if you want them". some mindless individuals went scarpering for the boxes like they usually do (you know the ones, from the 5am/runaround gang) untill a couple of us aired our disgust at this. people are losing money and theres these fools touching the dirty mail.
Heres the best bit.......

A manager heard us airing our views and said, "if you dont take your box this morning and you get back early from your delivery before your time, you will be MADE to throw this mail off and be MADE to take it out"

This a tactic being used by R/M at this moment in time is a desperate measure to turn the dispute un-offical.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but once it been brought in it had to be sorted ( Good on you if you left it ). I told all the lads in our office that whilst the van was in the yard they were to stay in the office and let management wheel everythink in it was comical.

By refusing to handle it they could of classed that as some sort of action suspended some one so the rest of you walked un-offically which would them make the current dispute illegal. We all must stayed disiplined at present R/M have only just begun and we must not waver on doing anythink they may class as un-offical.

Ive asked all the lads in our office not to do nights come friday but 8 are going in at 00.00hrs ( I know our times are 21.00-21.00). I tryied to explain to them the impact of there actions and why i was asking them to back heel but it feel on death ears.

Once again a prime example of the me me generation in R/M just thinking of themselves . It lead me to say to them how disgusted i was at there actions and asked them to see the bigger picture. I just feel that these selfish individuals have let our whole office down and are only concerened about now. I wouldnt mind most of them have the biggest mouthes in the office and are allways spouting off i now have no time for them whats so ever and they have lost my respect. They might aswell cross a picket line in my eyes.

Our second lorry was driven by a manager and in an example of typical RM joined up thinking, they put all the mail for the DO's they were going to in a lorry that was too big to get into the yard. It was fun watching management wheeling the yorks in the side door and through the office. Still, they'll have their fun tomorrow when there's no one there to watch them.
I think I'm going to put a curse on the coffee machine.....

We had a wagon full of mail turn up at our office to be delivered today. While throwing off the mail into the seperate rounds, some of the lads were wanting to sort all the mailsort boxes and get them delivered today. (Everyday we have been leaving mailsort coz the wagon turns up late in the morning, so it gives us summat to do while waiting plus we have too much mail to deliver in our time if we had to sort it on the day when the wagon is late). Anyway some lads wanted to sort all this and deliver it, coz they will be in tomoz as usual and not expecting any mail. Therefore come in tomoz, no mail, go home, easy day, get paid. I told them in in plain terms that " I aint sorting any of that mail and working overtime so you STRIKE BREAKERS (didnt want to offend anyone) can have a f***ing easy day tommorrow. Touch it and you can sort it on your own Im off to my frame" They werent happy but the message got through, at least they will have to do summat instead of getting an easy ride tomoz. Bastards

well done mate. i applaud you. weve got a boy in today blatently telling everyone hes coming in coz hes dads a manager and he dont think striking will get him anywhere. dont think he understands the magnitude of the situation, or is it niaveity?

I cant believe some people, they all moan about whats been going on and when they have their chance to speak out with the rest of us and let their feelings be known, nothing. They just look at the strikes as being an easy working day, early finish, and get paid.
