THE SCAB

Post by royalwud »

After God had finished the rattlesnake, the toad, and the vampire, he had some awful substance left with which he made a scab.

A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a water brain, a combination backbone of jelly and glue.

Where others have hearts, he carries a tumor of rotten principles.

When a scab comes down the street, men turn their backs and angels weep in heaven, and the devil shuts the gates of hell to keep him out.

No man (or woman) has a right to scab so long as there is a pool of water to drown his carcass in, or a rope long enough to hang his body with.

Judas was a gentleman compared with a scab. For betraying his master, he had character enough to hang himself. A scab has not.

Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage.

Judas sold his Savior for thirty pieces of silver.

Benedict Arnold sold his country for a promise of a commission in the British army.

The scab sells his birthright, country, his wife, his children and his fellowmen for an unfulfilled promise from his employer.

Esau was a traitor to himself; Judas was a traitor to his God; Benedict Arnold was a traitor to his country.

A scab is a traitor to his God, his country, his family and his class.

THE RULES:PLEASE READ AND TAKE NOTE.

Please do not in any circumstances resort to name calling or behaviour that could be deemed as bullying or harassment. Specifically, regarding the term 'scab'. It does have an historical meaning in some circles, but it can also be seen as abuse by others. Therefore members are requested to use the more acceptable term of 'Strike Breaker'

Yes, he could have said 'blackleg', 'knobstick', 'goon', 'Mister Block' or 'pie eater'.

A scab's a scab, I don't give two hoots what offence it gives to a scab. If strike breakers are that touchy about being called strike breakers, well they shouldn't betray their colleagues, should they.

The word scab is good, it reminds them what low life scum they are-getting the fruits from our fights.

Oh dear, another twonk who cannot see further than the next cup of coffee.

Blimey, I'd love to be there, that moment when your world comes crashing down round your ears, because as sure as eggs is eggs, it will happen.

When this manic cost-cutting frenzy reaches it's ultimate conclusion, and managers find themselves, well, managing no one, the word "REDUNDANT" will play a very important role in their lives. God, how I wish I could be at each and every DIM's day of reckoning.

I mean, do they really believe that they've got a job for life? Can it be that they really believe, that men like your Croziers, and, Higsons, will allow them to play at being managers in a Royal Mail with a great many less staff than it currently has?

Well, whatever it is they're on, I want some, except coke, that just gets right up my nose! :Very Happy

An Ode to a Scab

Post by NWpostie »

The following poem by Jack London was written in 1915.

Ode To A Scab

After God had finished the rattlesnake, the toad, and the vampire, He had some awful substance left with which He made a scab. A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a waterlogged brain, and a combination backbone made of jelly and glue. Where others have hearts, he carries a tumor of rotten principles.

When a scab comes down the street, men turn their backs and angels weep in heaven, and the devil shuts the gates of hell to keep him out. No man has a right to scab as long as there is a pool of water deep enough to drown his body in, or a rope long enough to hang his carcass with. Judas Iscariot was a gentleman compared with a scab. For betraying his Master, he had character enough to hang himself. A scab hasn't.

Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. Judas Iscariot sold his savior for thirty pieces of silver. Benedict Arnold sold his country for a promise of a commission in the British Army. The modern strikebreaker sells his birthright, his country, his wife, his children, and his fellow men for an unfulfilled promise from his employer, trust, or corporation.
