According to our processing rep, if they ask you to do 30 minute flexibility there & you say no, there is nothing they can do ? ?
They cant force you to do it, however this rep has been awol for about 6wks & the processing members are doing their nut about it.

That is right. A manager can ASK you for a half hour of YOUR time, but he CAN'T DEMAND a half hour of YOUR time, not even a second.Destroyer wrote:According to our processing rep, if they ask you to do 30 minute flexibility there & you say no, there is nothing they can do ? ?

I've been asked several times for that half hour, one cheeky cnut demanded I give RM a half hour of my own time, on each and every occassion I've said, "sorry, but no can do", and when they've asked why, I say, "because I have an urgent need to get home and scratch me knackers."
Give those cnuts an inch, and they'll take a 100 miles.

Re: start times changed
As stated before on another thread....the 'flexin' was put to certain members at a couple of local offices up our way..!! They said that they were unavailable to carry this out - they were given a letter of warning stating that if they failed to do so they would be taken off pay...!! This happened to 3 members in 1 D.O. and 28 in another..!! No coincidence that both D.O.'s are covered by the same 'clusterfuck'...sorry 'clusterdim'...? Seems to be dependant on how scared your dim is of his superior...!! Area rep sought advice from higher above.....still waitin...!!! Totally unacceptable circumstances to work under...hopefully National IA will end this....?

Re: start times changed
what would be the point of it, we had the same, our Union told them to stuff and instructed us to start at or normal time.

The thing that makes me laugh is when your rep tells you that your branch chairman says you just come in & do your normal hours, i tell my manager what my intentions are & he threatens to stop my money ???

Re: start times changed
saturdays were protected in the 2007 modernization agreement and saturdays cannot be used as flexiblity, read through it you will see it, unless otherwise agreed locally but that just refers to the start time on a permanent basis and not a flexible time

Re: start times changed
They tried it at our place too, each section was gathered and "told" about starting 30minutes later on Tuesday to add it on to Saturday... Rep then came round after and told us they can only ask us not tell us and that we had to inform the manager on an individual basis if we couldn't do it, due to whatever reason...
Suffice to say most people came in at normal time (just as well as it was a marginally busy day!) apart from the managers-bitches that will do anything to please them!
