Why I will be on the picket line

Post by clashcityrocker »

There are two main reasons for posting this thread.
1.I am sick and tired of reading Ogg's justification for being a strike-breaker.If you want to break the strike, do it , but don't crow about it.I have a mortgage,I have 4 children and I know the difference between right and wrong.
2.Even among colleagues prepared to strike there are few prepared to stand on the picket line. What is the point they ask.We cannot stop people going to work.We have to stand down the picket line to allow non-striking colleagues through. What is the point?
The point is PROPAGANDA.

Royal Mail have already twisted the figures to suggest a majority voted against this strike. When the general public see a poorly attended picket line they assume most are inside working.Royal Mail will again "massage" the figures to suggest a lot of people are working through this strike.
If however the public sees a big picket line they might, just might for one second stop believing the lies fed to them by the tabloids. They might actually see that the bag monkeys are united in taking this action. It shows them that the bag monkeys are angry.
So put on your uniform.Stand on the picket line and show the world we are on strike. It is not a day off - it is a day of Industrial Action.Be there.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

We are drumming up support for our picket line on friday, hopefully gt a good turnout. the local newspaper are roumerd to be there.
i know what i will say to themas i have some brief notes, and i know others will have stuff to say, BUT is there a letter or template i can download to have the main things at hand incase i go off on one and forget what i really need to say. and is there anything i cannot say due to legal reasons or future run ins with management etc

Delighted to say i'll be on picket line....and it seems i will not be alone as i first thought!! Found out today there will be at least 4 of the 6 members out, including the rep of whom i owe an apology as i posted last week that he would be turning up for duty as he did in 2007. Pity we don't have more members but some left the union after the 2007 agreement. Good luck fellow workers :Applause

I'll be there! Apart from the solidarity, I like seeing the faces of those turd 'managers' from other offices who, after years of bullying in their own offices, can't look you in the eye when you glare at them as they crawl through the picket line.

I will be present on the picket line,I feel it is my duty. The more people on the picket line, the more those that have made the wrong decision will squirm as they walk past.If it makes just one person reconsiders thier choice. That would make me very happy.
