This Years Have Your Say Figures

Please find attached a copy of this years National HYS figures.

Given that RM are refusing to accept there is a culture of Bullying in the Industry it may well be useful to utilise their own figures in any media interviews etc.

What i dont understand is it appears to suggest a monthly breakdown bot HYS is only done once a year.

Looks like Thames Valley has had a lot of B & H -72% improvement

Thats just the whole point POSTMAN, you are not supposed to be able to work it out.

The unions should run an indepedent survey,and compare it to R/M figures.

You must remember that this has come via a company that made 76% yes vote into 51% and has altered the number of flats or letters in a tray. . . . .very creative!!!. Oh and they can do it with words too i.e. we are not bringing 30,000 extra staff in to do the work of the strikers ........they are to deal with the backlog . . . . eh! that was caused by?...........oh yes staff on strike!!!

Royal Mail run HYS surveys on a rolling basis in different sites each month. These are then aggregated to produce the YTD (Year to Date) figures.

If you look at the bullying and harassment data, from what I can understand from these figures is that RML has taken bullying and harassment figures for a certain month (the month is not stated) as well as the bullying and harassment figures for a 12 month period for this year and last year . You then have the 'Improvement...' columns for bullying and harassment, those regions that are showing a minus percentage I would assume the bullying and harassment has not really improved (e.g. Northern Ireland figures = -37% and Thames Valley = -72% ). Those regions that have a positive percentage, for example, the North East England region has an imrpovement figure of 24% which I would assume that they have been improvements in bullying and harassment in that particular region.

If thats the case why do the monthly figures exactly match the YTD figures,surely this would only be the case in the first month of the survey.

I think the figures are that 18% of HYS returned this month "had witnessed bullying or harassment in the last year" - that this is a 25% improvement from last year (Although whether this is a 25% improvement on total figures (ie 25% less people complained) or whether the its 25% down from 43%, or even if last year the was 22% and 25% = 18% is not very clear)

The 1st column matches the 3rd column because there has only been 1 HYS to date this year and the 4th is the same column from last years report at the same time to show any improvement or worsening of the figures.
