i have been asked by many of my customers"why are you going on strike?." and they are very supportive when i explain how we are being bullied expected to take more delivery work..bullied by managers ...royal mail seem to be getting it all there own way in the press at the moment.

why dont the union print of an information sheet telling people about our conditions and bullying in offices taking us back to victorian workhouse practices and the service they get will be /later /more expensive/and less secure than having a regular face on there round....but printed of in plain english not some baffling spill...i know we could not deliver this in duty time but i for one would deliver an information sheet in my own time over a week to show the public what we are going through keep them informed of our side of the argument..(be quite funny on a strike day following a scab with our leaflets)...imagine the press response to royal mail worker posting leaflets for (no pay) it would get our cause in the public light...even put the local mp contact details on it if they agree with us and let them know there backing of postmen to stop the sell off and demise of the last public service and enlighten the at the price increases they will have in the future under a privatized company...

imagine every house nationwide....i'd f*ckin do it for nowt to get the public on side

This dispute is being fought in the press as well as the picket line. We need to get our side of the issue across.

I suggest that people to write or call into local radio stations, papers, etc so the public can get a chance to hear the truth.
Some famous person said the quill is mightier than the sword.

I have no idea if we will win long drawn out dispute, but the way I've been treated over the last couple of years has made me decide that I'll rather go down fighting than do nothing.

but he then fcked up by killing too many civilians and totally alienating the whole country.

We haven't killed anybody and we still have a lot of support out there but it wouldn't hurt us
to try and win over a few hearts and minds.

horror stories about Bullying , RMAP - " they're trying to hound out old Dave with cancer " etc , anything in the " Back of Beyond Gazette " about a tribunal - email the page over to the Nationals - some of it will eventually stick - torpedo RM and let them run round putting fires out - basically play them at their own game

Best one was that woman in Watford MC who was told to take a round out when 7 - 8 months pregnant and untrained & had a car accident - think RM were trying to get them on UIA ? - The BBC lapped it up

Tough. I don't feel the need to get the public "on side." I'll be on my picket line, AGAIN, come friday. Just don't ask me to interact with that freaky collection of loons known as the British public, right bunch of w*****s they are.

Got in touch with my Branch Sec today asking for more posters,stickers....etc for Fri , then I asked...can we not do our own leaflet(from the branch) explaining why we are striking , so we can pass them out on the picket-line...? He told me he was waiting for something that's coming out of HQ..!!

My own experience suggests that the vast majority of the public are 100% in support of union action. Seems to be a bit different when you meet folks face to face rather than review the propaganda sheets.

I think many of the public are very deeply suspicious about most news media and the utterances of politicians. They can only tell so many lies before people begin to doubt their every word. Seems the "weapons of mass destruction " fairy tale has had a big impact on public conciousness

A little anecdote.
A fellow postie still in uniform after his shift literally bumps into this fella in the high st,
he apologises and to his amazment the man shakes him warmly by the hand and says i support you guys 100%
turns out to Ben kingsley! my mate said it gave him a warm glow all day to think Ghandi was on his side.
