ACAS... call the strike off and we talk ! yer right
No No No to stopping the strike . sorry to say it but we have them ...8 weeks from Christmas... they will blink first ...I'm sick and tired of the bullying and arm twisting by RM . They don't want ACAS they want you back to work for Christmas and any agreement at ACAS torn up after Christmas. teach them a lesson ...ALL OUT STAY OUT until we have it all in hard print .

I think the leaked document shows our negotiators why they need to keep the pressure on.

Exactly what I thought. They might not even wait til after christmas, they'll just press ahead without our knowledge. We need to keep on with the strike to show we're serious!!
You're so ugly, not even a sniper would take you out!!

Re: ACAS... call the strike off and we talk ! yer right
They can't afford to call the strike action off now.
We waited 5 days to allow talks and discussions with the Union exec, then gave 9 days notice for strike action which accounts to 14 days so far!
If we were to call off these strike days then we would be required by law (You know the thing that the union is forced to adhere to but not the employers!!) which is another 7 days, with this in mind there is not really much leeway for to stand down or we could lose the right to strike for months. 28 days max to make the vote/strike live.
I'm myself still awaiting to last minute rushing to court to try and make the strike illegal the way that this management has tried everytime there is the prospect of I.A

We must not cave in now, in all the 20 years I have worked for the business I have never encountered managers like we have had to put up with in our mail centre for the last 5 years, Serious bully boys,it is a disgrace the way they treat people.

Days after the leaked RM document deatailing RM plans to change the industry and the union,1 day after RM anounces dubious legality of hiring 30,000 extra temps .but not strike breaking temps as that of course would be illegal, now RM wants to talk.
A stalling tactic ,to aloow time to get temps in and trained .

Yes!Now is the time to strike, if they won't talk while we are on strike then they are not serious. I'm from near Leeds and there the council said they would never talk to the striking bin workers while they were on strike, lo and behold they caved in. That is the only way to make sure they are not just stalling, buying time, getting the backlog cleared, nd apreparing a scab workforce.

Eh?'its billy hayes thats been bleating on about trying to get acas involved so what we gonna look like when its now us thats refusing to use acas.i agree with ye 100% we should just carry on with the strikes but it looks like billy hayes has made another wrong move by pushing the acas thing.i mean do you trust acas to be fair? we couldnt even rely upon brendan tuc chief to be fair when he signed aff the last agreement.tailfly12 wrote:Royal Mail can shove ACAS up there arse. Re: RM /ACAS
As stated on TV today, Royal Mail don't want ACAS to deal with our current dispute!!
What the RM director stated was, firstly we have to withdraw the threat of strike action and secondly he will only talk about what Royal Mail will do in the FUTURE! Not what we are striking for just now or any the issues that we have been arguing about for the last 5 or 6 months!
