I am listening, unfortunately plenty of information that is not true

As I've stated numerous times, the vast majority of mail is still delivered by one work force, you. Whilst that is the case you have the strongest foot to stand on even as volumes might or might not be declining in traditional 2D formats of mail.

As for hiring temps. Those temps will be to clear the backlog, and as I know the acting HR director he is highly experienced in this area and would not do something that is not legal. They have a legal department of approx. 100 who would have checked this, and that excludes the high powered london based lawyers who work on behalf of the company.

it speaks volumes that RM seem unwilling to put anybody up for cross examination on programmes such is this. Their sole contribution to the 'debate' seems to be the use of misleading sound bites and red-herrings.

:chuckle :chuckle Just like Carter and Ruck "the most feared libel lawyers in the land" bet Trafigura were not best pleased when their awesome legal attack dogs got thrown out of court with a flea in their ear :chuckle
RM are stretching and bending the legal rules ,no doubt egged on and given assurances of assistance and support by some in authority. They should be in no doubt that if or when it blows up in their faces their backers will melt away ,wash their hands and be squeaky clean. They would be wise to hold some form of security , some movers and shakers have lots of form :chuckle

"a distant relationship with the law" - Ex RM Manager - IMHO - RM's "grounds" can be be vague and obscure , the rot starts at the top and it filters down the food chain , a cancer if you will :hmmmm - RM has always been that way - 350 years of culture :hmmmm , there's ex RM legal staff who have been scathingly critical of the RM " culture " .

You can put another twist on Higson's pin - striped legal army at the ready , that's actually more in a reality , " we can play trench warfare and throw more money at things " :hmmmm but it doesn't necessarily mean that they are in the right . For instance somebody might have a very good case in a IT & beat RM but RM will try and find a legal case point to appeal to the ETA .

RM lost a tribunal over docking pay for supposed UIA in London in 2007 - the orders to dock must have come from very on high ? - the Union have already applied for a IT for taking off pay and suspensions - will these stand up in court ? - who gave the orders to implement that policy ?

Sometimes that approach works - sometimes it backfires badly :Boo hoo! :chuckle

RM's arrogance is it's Achilles Heel - there's more than one way of skinning a cat ? - RM with high powered solicitors Evershed's allegedly lost against a ex ASLEF union rep in a tribunal over Ihr contracts which were totally against the EU Working Time Directive , the IT Chairman stated the 1hr contract was a barely coherent rag bag of contradictions , a lawyer's bonanza :Very Happy

Sorry Fozzie - I wouldn't be quite so inclined to take everything RM as read but it does depend how smart the CWU's people are
