need some advise asap, is there a claim that you can do against an employer / management for the cause of an employee's stress / illness.

yes there is go and see your rep and put a grievance in agaist the doms thats a good start wish more people would do this but they dont please do something dont let them get away with anything your rep should help you if not ask a rep on here in the union room also there is the bullying and harassment helpline number can be found in your pay line

If you want to launch a legal claim for compensation check the legal department of the CWU. You don't have to be a member for them to represent you I don't think. They certainly deal with standard compensation claims (accident) for example and maybe also stress. Email them they get back quickly in my experience.

Being to see my dom, handed in a grievance,(refused by my cluster) taken it further, still nothing, still not sorted, TRIED MY DSM and HR, STILL REFUSED, GOT THE FULL BACKING OF MY UNION REP'S,

BUT THEY JUST GET ROLLED OVER BY MANAGEMENT,

be prepared if you go to the union for them to turn round and s**t on you!!!!
i was more or less in the sam boat as you a couple of years back and the union locally let me down so i went to the top i emailed billy hayes and he got his monkeys on it, to cut a long story short they sent it to the legal team and they turned round and told me the case had little or no chance so they weren't interested.

so i bought myself 2 legal books and taught myself employment law, while i was suffering from a serious mental illness and also in the midst of taking meds, i took it all the way to tribunal on my own and eventually won i got a decent payout aswell.
while i was at tribunal suprise suprise there was another postie there from another office, he was told the union would represent him and then 4 weeks before it was the date they turned round and dropped out, his daughter had to represent him.
i did have a high up CWU bloke as a witness for me and he did help me alot but this was off his own back head office wasnt interested, and he also knows of dozens of cases that the CWU turn down as if its not 100% definate win they rarely take it up.
if you want a hand let me know my case was only finished at the begining of this year so still have all the paperwork and books, and would only be to happy to stick it to them once again.

That's s**t. Maybe they don't have enough funds to fight cases and loose - doesn't that cost money? If so they should tell you up front that your case isn't strong enough and not backout leaving you in the s**t at the last moment. Dissapointing to hear.

A lot of it is down to funds. Simple as that.
I would just like to say there are reps out there who really are salt of the earth and there are some who are not.
