ISNT IT STRANGE!!

Isnt it strange how the post office can change like camelions ,in team talks they tell you about health and safety in workplace .The wearing of post office shoes yet now they are telling people they can come in ,in there own clothes.Also post office will sack you if you wilfully delay mail, yet after the strike they wont reward you (po words not mine)for working over your time hence they are wilfully delaying mail.I brought it to my mails manager attention that guys were still going round deliverys without seatbelts ,and putting all there mail in front of van i asked that he should keep reminding the workforce of the rules but isnt it strange he wont I WONDER WHY !!! :lfo

Yeh you can imagine 30000 casuals in jeans and tee shirts, trainers, driving round in vans running round trying to deliver mail at 5 in the afternoon, H&S out of the window......if there was a fatal accident. God forbid, who will be responsible for corperate manslaughter :cfo ???

:shock:and just where are these 30,000 casuals coming from? I doubt even the army could recruit that amount of SUITABLE
volunteers in such a short space of time!!!! No disrespect to casual workers, but over the years when they have come into our office, most quit after a couple of days---and with the bad weather coming most will be lucky to last a day!!
Keep the chins up lads and lasses---do not let their scare tactics get to you---they NEED us, simple as that.

casuals aint going to be used to deliver but work in Mail centres and the like..
The privelidge of delivering the mail is left with the managers...

If you are on the gates keep an eye on their driving hours if they are in tacho vehicles, there is an exclusion in the law for RM if its an emergency but i can't see that this is.
