Sucidal Strike

Post by Puppetmaster »

Proably been mentioned else where ,if so sorry.
I am so fed up of the media and the general public saying we have a death wish by going on strike, and we demand a 3 year pay deal with fixed pay rises.

Pay has nothing to do with it ,except when you see bonuses paid to Managers ,with targets based upon cost cutting not on service levels to Customers.
The main reason my mates will be striking is the size of the new walks (rounds) that will be introduced in Jan,officialy RM says these walks will take 3.5 hours or less even.in reallife 4.50hrs+

My Question to these people who say we are stupid to strike is what are we supposed to do if we cannont physicaly do these new rounds on time.
Will I be threatend by the Management if I cannot finish on time ?
Will I have my pay stopped ?
Will I be forced to leave ?
What about the stress upon my Family and myself worrying about what will happen If I cannot finnish on time?
We could try talking to RM and explain the problem.
A,they will not listen
B, they tried a similar excersise in my office last year and cost the office £500,000 in unexpected expenses. So they have not even learnt from their previous mistakes!

May be all these clever commentators would like to shaodow a postie from start of shift till finnish and then say how stupid we are.

Bullied bullied and bullied into taken out the walk. Its strange because RM failed a part of the delivery I cover today. Classed as a failure. But if i send mail back its wilful delay.
I think its time to make RM a misery.
Let my battle commence. :dance

My own view is that this dispute should be about pay as well. Crozier will get a good pay packet this year, no doubt it will have increased because we, and I mean the likes of you and me, have helped to generate a good profit. Now, why shouldn't we have a share as well, eh?

It is strange though that they call it a suicidal strike, that its bad for us as well as the business, that we are holding the public to ransom, that it could be the death knell of Royal Mail. So why don't they delve deeper and ask striking posties why they are taking such a chance. If they really believe its a suicidal strike then they should be asking why 76% in a vote backed it, surely 70,000 people would not all commit suicide in one go without there being reasons behind it.

Of course the last real journalists anywhere disappeared about the same time as Watergate.
