On Tuesday 8th March, Royal Mail manager, Paul Jones, announced the sacking of Burslem Postal worker Dave Condliffe. Despite postal workers being subject to regular bullying and intimidation by bosses, Dave has been wrongly accused of abusive behaviour against a manager!
Paul Jones refused to apologise for taking 9 weeks to make this decision and has had no contact with Dave at all during the last four weeks. Dave Condliffe has a thirteen year record of exemplorary service and has not taken one day off sick in all that time.
The evidence of two eye witnesses who stated that it was Dave who was abused was ignored with the comment that such evidence from customers "does not carry any weight".
Ordinary people will be angry to hear that Royal Mail is prepared to ignore their opinions in this way and carry on with their victimisation of hard working postal workers.

Standard Royal Mail 70's style fit up, like a prison with 9 officers all swearing blind that so & so did this or that!
Work backwards -verdict guilty -then the "charge" , then the "witnesses" , totally contrived, RM has always thought itself above the law , but everything is to a foregone conclusion & purely to impress other managers. Dreadful regimented style.
If it's gone to 9 weeks , it means RM are in panic mode again ! and even they know thier case would not stand up in court.
I suggest training in basic employment law!
