Just a bit of a question here about the dispute, especially concerning the B & H accusations.
Our office is not too bad, managers are reasonable and things run smoothly. I was talking to lino about the dispute and he said the same old, it is a london issue and a few other bits of the country. I said it seemed to be more than that and that there seemed to be a lot of stories about intimidation and harassment around the country. He said, if there was harassment in these offices, then why didn't all those getting harassed just put grievances, surely there would be that many grievances landing on individual managers that it would be clear cut that it was going on and action would be taken. I said strike action has been chosen as the course of action because this is a national issue.
Have loads of grievances been put in against managers around the country? Could this have not been dealt with internally? Having said that, i know that the strike is not just about this issue, but it is the one that should bother us the most as it is never an acceptable part of human behaviour.

Re: Grievance!!
I think it boils down to most people not wanting the hassle of putting in a grievance or simply do not know they have the right to do that.

Re: Grievance!!
It has to go beyond a grievance it has to be a JPS.
Reasons: A grievance is allways investigated by a dom from a neighbouring office who may have a clash of interests and may clear this dom of B/H.
If past up to the next stage its dealt with by a cluster DOM who in turn may have clash of interests and also clear the dom of any B/H do you honestly beleive the cluster dom or office dom dealing with the case would point the finger at the dom and blame them 100% not a chance been there and seen, heard it all before.
A JPS is slightly different as outside forces come especially if there are high numbers of people that have been affected by a dom and his actions.
These people have no vetted interests they only want the truth and do not look at either side favourably.
Each employee in your unit will be interviewed in private all evidence will then be looked at and a conclusion drew on that evidence.
This now is the only course of action left for offices to go down as grievances are now waste paper,if they are addressed its all brushed under the carpet.
I have sat in on a few grievances and the whole system is laughable as no one is ever brought to book with regards to what ever issue the grievance is about.
JPS you have to get in touch with your area rep to get the ball rolling
Stay strong chaps to battle we march SOLIDARITY

Re: Grievance!!
Jps thats how we got rid of a DOM and his little henchmen, office is far better now. Most the management are aproachable now.
We had a few bad months of that DOM.I felt like leaving the job several times but as long as you stick together these bad managers can be removed.

Don't forget it can be difficult to get evidence sufficient to win a grievence case. The clever managers will bully you when no-one else is about, they have been doing it for years some of them and are experts in harrassing people. Look at RM upper management - THEY WANT BULLYING MANAGERS! It's one way to force your workers into submission!

Re: Grievance!!
I'd love to know what jps stands for??? grievances don't happen in our office because we all know bugger all happens, these need an outside agency or company to act on them.
