Annual leave.

Ive got a few days annual leave to use but anytime i ask for them i keep getting refused them. Last week was the 5th refusual. Last year i had 1 extra week to use which was refused when it suited me to take it. I came into work on a monday morning in april to be told im off this week. Not my choice but managments. Can they keep refusing me my annual leave untill it suits them.

No one getting to take days off that were carried over from last year? Don't know what the f#ck is going on. Just another rule from the family friendly company that is ROYAL FAIL.

So far this year i have been refused 10 days which i originally chose when i handed my holiday form in! This means i still have loads to choose before the end of march but what use is this if there not days i want

Do you not have an annual leave list in your office? Seems to me management are allocating leave when it suits them and not fairly. See your union rep!!!.....We pick our annual leave in Sep to Oct each year, you pick 2 weeks then the 3rd week then the 4th week then your odd days. The list is organised by seniority on the 2 week pick then the top 25% goto the bottom with 25% to 50% moving to the top to pick thier 3rd week first, again the 25% to 50% move to the bottom and 50% to 75% move to the top to pick thier 4th week first, finally the people least senior 75% to 100% get to pick thier odd days first. This is agreed with the union, you can change weeks or days off at any time once the list is complete providing a space exists on the A/L list (only problem is there is never much left as only 6 posties are allowed off each day,(( we do get 8 in the Aug school holls)) for aprox 70 FT posties...... How is leave allocated in other offices??

Its just not right that a company can say no to taking a few days off here and there. Your entilted to them so you should get them at some point. This is just another savings tactic...and you wonder why were going to be on strike.

Imagine how much they would save if every postperson never got that one day off that there entilted too...I think it works out about £76,800 a day. Nice work royal fail!

why don't you just take your union rep in the office with you and sort it out that way, that's what there there for..

Our office is split into 8 groups.Each group pick there 4 weeks between them. It also rotates each year to make it fair. Another problem is when you ask for a day their getting you to swap your day off so managment dont have to get your walk covered. 2 months ago i had a family funeral for which i am entitled to a day off (correct me if im wrong). When i tried to arrange this i was told to swap my day off. Our office hasnt got a union rep anymore as hes retired and no one wants the job. Gotta love royalmail. LOL

Our office doesnt have a rep but we try and sort things ourselves,if it gets out of hand we just get the local area rep.

Someone there,where ever you are will have a number for you.
