This morning at our place, our rep was trying to see who would be striking to get a feel for what’s to come. One particular bloke who went on strike last time but like many voted yes to this shambles of an agreement was present. I mentioned to the two DIMS who were ear wigging that some rounds cannot do lapsing/collapsing as time does not permit it and seeing as our office runs itself and most people chip in to help, am a tad pissed off at the threat of having my pay stopped if I refuse to do lapsing even if it aint a refusal but a lack of time.

I added that considering when I go GP or Hossy appointments I come back to finish my round (yes I know) I take it as a an insult that you think I am a shirker and anti lapsing when it IS time that is THE PROB NOT LAZY IDOL POSTIES IN most CASES.

I mentioned 2 rounds at least that struggle to get done without lapsing, when suddenly the oik I mentioned earlier said he disputed my saying some round can’t be done. Even tho the two rounds mentioned had the two relevant postie’s nodding in agreement and all this IN FRONT OF THE TWO DIMMS
He then added that he does not see why he should strike just to help other branches out anymore. PLUS said if the manager just puts it in writing that we will only do lasping Mon Tues and Wed surely that would be ok then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now after I dragged one of my chins off the effing floor, I just could not respond without seeing in my mind, a fist making contact with a mouth.

Will some posties NEVER learn or LISTEN UP. This is the crap we are in now so wait till next Financial Year when you don’t get ANOTHER PAY RISE and MORE lapsing.. DO YOU LIKE WORKING FOR NOTHING OR WHAT.

You cannot be docked any pay if you work the hours on contract! We've got bullying DUMS trying to intimadate people into all kinds of working patterns, they've been given free reign to do as they please with no come backs! f**k em and cut off!

your lucky you only have 2 deliverys in your office that cant be lappsed, their is only probably 2 in our office that can be lappsed and i know because i have done quite alot of shifts in my office( lappsing is a load of s**t )

this person is a womans widgie. i can understand the fist, face interface. is he a teachers pet, does he come in early, work through break, use his car and rush about like an olympic athlete. if any of these apply that is not what you're paid for, no shortcuts. i have the same problem, dim says they aren't 4 hr walks, come and time me then say i [really good advice off the union] the dim darn't time me because i will prove that there is no time to absorb. i refuse on a regular basis, he pushes me so i push back. apart from that there is just the odd refusal for absorbing. some claim overtime some idiots run about and prove it can be done. tell your dim nothing would give you greater pleasure than to absorb but lack of time prevents it. keep smiling, they hate nothing more than a happy worker.

They cant dock you pay, only if you refuse to do it, so the trick is to dont refuse just say your willing to try but you are not willing to go over your time and if you cant complete it you will be bringing it back. We had this dispute at our office and the conclusion was you can be docked pay only if you refuse to take lapsing.
