Mr Hayes

As the wife of a long serving postman and staunch union man I need a question answering please. After reading to my horror how much Mr Bill Hayes salary is- £97000 per yer- I would like to know if he is also going to go without his salary during the strike when the rest of the men and women (who can ill aford to!) go without theirs? I confess that I had no idea that union leaders earned such money and I know that people may agure that his job is very demanding and in line with other unions but these union leaders should not be on such salaries, surely it destroys all that unions stand for! I wonder how much of a salary the leaders of the Jorrow march were on! Please can someone answer my question as to weather or not Mr Bill Hayes will be joining the strike in spirit by not taking a salary during the days or weeks of the strike. Perhaps he could put it into the strike fund which has so little in it due in someway I suspect to the fact that so much money is going to the big cats!!

Local reps , Area reps , Divisional reps, regional secretaries and PEC members all lose pay if their parent office go out on strike .

The National officers and PAs normally dontate their money to either chairiy or the hardship fund. I know that a number of PAs and National officers have already done so in this dispute.

Do you do everything for your old man,can't he come on and have a word with us?

Johnny 1, or can I just call you Rubber? How do you think Mr Hayes' salary compares to say, errr, errmm, someone like Adam Crozier? I don't know about you, but I was very shocked that so much public money, some of everybody's taxes, could be paid to such an under performing moron like Crozier, possibly the worst servant any public, anywhere, ever had. When all's said and done, at least Mr.Hayes' salary is paid by the members of the CWU, and therefore is of no concern to anybody outside the CWU. I wonder what the public think of Crozier's 5-6 million pounds salary + bonuses courtesy of the ever generous public?
