On occasions over the last few years police officers have looked in on our picket line to ensure things were in order - they have been friendly, courteous and in many cases sympathetic to our problems - many of us know our local officers and deliver to them - we also have been their eyes and ears in the community when elderly or vulnerable customers have been at risk or when we have seen suspicious activity on the way to work at 05:00 in the morning. Both policing and industrial relations behaviour have come a long way since the '80's - we should never forget how the miners were treated but by the same token, we should not be looking to avenge the injustices they suffered - we have our own fight to win and must find a way to win it that gains the respect of all involved.

For those that bait us such as the managers mentioned above - "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND" - you can't operate without staff, but we all know that an office can operate without managers - and when all this is settled and we are happy in our jobs, our determination and professionalism will render 60% 0f managers surplus to requirements - OH, and there won't be any vacancies for you - we will only want workers - not w*****s.

I might call them but whether they would, or how long they would take to turn up is another matter.
And when they do they normally don't get to do a lot, because the CPS won't let then which isn't their fault,
