Royal mail national strike

Post by zuvinrat »

I hope the union listens to its members this time round and not have them ridiculous one day strikes, all they achieved was a saving for Royal mail and double the work load for us

Thing is some of our London Colleagues have been out for 14 days already (some even more) so not sure if they could continue if we ramped up to an "All Out" or a multi-day strike.

Perhaps we could I have 1 day national, all functions strikes including London as a Marker, then exclude London for 1 week when we ramp it up to a series of 2 day rolling functional strikes.

How about this for an idea...............??

The CWU state that due to the postman and women's concerns over meeting our service to the public over Christmas, We will NOT strike until after Christmas .and we WILL clear the back log of post as long as reasonable overtime is paid. BUT if Crozier continues with his controlled winding down of RM then after Chrostmas we will strike hard?

This was we can build up our tips an docket to save for a hard January??

Do you think that would possible get the public on our side.... This is assuming the CWU push hard the fact that we are striking over the decline in service bought on by Crozier and his cronies???

truth is we couldn't. we've already lost over £1000 in wages. to expect us to now just go out and stay out is going to cause many to question whether or not they can still support this strike. we should of all been balloted at the same time and all striked together. i just hope our union know's how much some of us have already given to support them and if they f**k up this time or show any sigh of weaknes there will be a lot of london posties leave the union.

100% agree as i think striking in the run up to Christmas will lose us a lot of goodwill, but i believe that if we don't strike within 4 weeks of the ballot result being declared then we have to re-ballot ( understand this can be extended to 8 weeks if both sides agree)

No, we don't let Crozier off the hook at our busiest time of the year, we continue to turn the screw and let the public know that Adam is the man they need to get hold of.

i agree with the last poster, we need to hit them where it hurts to have any effect and that means striking over the busy christmas period to have any chance of royal mail backing down.

We strike over Xmas and Crozier wins. Look at the newspaper headlines, if we make a statement saying we believe in service and we will provide it until Xmas the public will look at our case and I believe take a second look at Crozier. We strike over XMAS we lose public sympathy. Tactics my friends.

We are striking because we believe in service, yet we are denying that service when the public need us.

Now, if the CWU explain whats going on properly then I agree. But all I hear through the media is its about pay and modernisation. So the public think we are striking for more money and are being ancient in our ways. Its not true. So I think a radical way of thinking would scupper Crozier and his band of cronies.
