Ballot result communications
Bob McGuire sent a message to the members of COMMUNICATION WORKERS UNION MEMBERS NORTH EAST DIVISION.
--------------------
Subject: ballot result communications
Hi everyone,
here's the plan for communicating the ballot result on Thursday. Ballot Result will be known between 12.00 - 13.00 on Thurs, text will go out to PEC and Field Officers, who will text Branch Secs within their area, Branch Secs text Reps who will then let members know before press announcement. Well that's the plan, there will be some members on delivery and some on shifts who may not get the message and hear it from the press first but that's unavoidable. Hope this is useful.
Cheers

Re: Ballot result communications
While the PEC sit and wait for Monday , the rest of us are suffering Executive Action , If the vote is indeed a YES then action should be taken to bring matters to a swift conclusion. We all know RM will try and string things out as long as possible.

Re: Ballot result communications
Bear in mind that if the CWU didn't allow RM at least a couple of days to let the result sink in - and come back with some realistic proposals to end the dispute - before giving 7 days notice of a national strike, it would give :cfo a chance to peddle the line to the media that 'you can see the CWU are not interested in resolving these issues, by the instant knee-jerk response of calling of a national strike the second the result is announced'dingo wrote:7 days but the pec are not meeting till monday so next week is out unless someone dramatic takes place at the talks which started today.
Plus, those offices that will have lost a day's pay (again) this week can at least have a week's respite before it goes national the week after
