bet the managers get most of them.In all seriousness are they a small office and is this a lot. My Do cant fit artics on the loading bay so we usually have 8 or so 700s, which if my maths is rights is just over 1 Artics worth.

Hi guys & gals no we didnae walkoot this morning there was a meeting in the carpark to decide if we should have walked or stay indounome wrote:I didnt hear they were out but i did hear that there was an arctic lorry full just for them, this came from my DIM.
the vote was to go back into work .Which was shite
It was about the DIM imposing their flexabilty today ,when as you stated we had an artic with 46 cages of mail on board
(feck knows were they found that amount fae)
There was meetings galore on the shopfloor with them spouting their pish & our brave reps fighting their shite.
The reps took advice fae the head honcho in Scotland no 2 -wullie Marshall it seems the barstewards were trying to impose this
flexable guff all over the east of scotland .
The upshot wiz we did their feckin 30 mins enforced OT cannae say too much at the mo but watch this space for news .
The DIM in Livi is trying to stir that big pot of shite watch him -as he takes instructions fae the cluster manager honest john

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Over loaded Artic!
Are you sure there were 46 cages on that trailer?!?!?
If so. Did your H&S Rep make a formal complaint?
It should have been loaded, with the cages narrow side on, to reduce the number of cages that'll fit, to 44. That was brought in, back in the '90's, because the trailers weren't stable enough, with them the other way around. I've no idea why. You'd have to ask someone who was driving them back then. But they shouldn't be cutting corners on H&S, just to cut down on the number of trips they need to make!

Re: bathgate out
Why did you do the flex??
Postman -our reps took advice from the secretary of Scotland no 2 branch
we had 3 options
1) Do feck all & take it up the erse
2) Walk
3) Go back in ,stick in a meaningless grievence & take action later.
So spilie you are right
I was so disappointed we didnae walk -but we live onto fight another day .
As for the cages yep 46 onboard & we are still trying to sort this shite but we aint got a hope in HELL
this morning 3 sorting letters ,2 on flats,1 on parcels -we now have more managers than sorters
Its a feckin shambles

Re: bathgate out
I'm not surprised you were advised to work it. I'm not sure how that half hour variation is supposed to work but it's in the agreement, don't like it being in the agreement but it is there. They can't insist upoon it at the last minute though if someone is unable to do it that day they can't make them. Did they say all staff in the whole office have to work it that day? if so when do yous get it back?

as far as being in the agreement goes what a pile of shi*e, well job and finish was in the agreement too and where has that gone, so shove your flex shove your overtime and stop apologising for being a nuisance and grab these fuc**rs by the balls and squeeze until we get what we want and if you cant deliver on that piss off and let someone who can do it

Thats right job & finish was in the agreement, an old agreement. Where has it gone? it disappeared in 2007 with pay and mod agreement, and is no more, feel free to engage your brain before typing.spilie wrote:as far as being in the agreement goes what a pile of shi*e, well job and finish was in the agreement too and where has that gone, so shove your flex shove your overtime and stop apologising for being a nuisance and grab these fuc**rs by the balls and squeeze until we get what we want and if you cant deliver on that piss off and let someone who can do it
