Mandleson, clapped?
They are clapping this guy at the Conference. Quote: "We look after Public Services!" What?...
If this is his 3rd comeback, then the stake, silver bullets and garlic have to be used next time, but in larger quantities.
You can't keep a good Undead speaker down, apparently.
( Then again, if Labour lose, he'll get another cosy job with the "Con"servatives as Ambassador to Transylvannia, no doubt.)

Live: Lord Mandelson's speech to Labour conference - Its in reverse for some reason
The First Secretary makes his first address to party conference since his return to government - follow every last claim and counter-claim here
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/p ... 852457.ece" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
3.11pm
"There's work to be done," says Lord Mandelson, as the cheers ring around the hall. Euphoria. John Prescott could hardly have done better.
But the conference chairwoman quickly reminds us of the reality. She thanks Peter for his speech and says she hasn't seen conference so happy "since we arrived here on Sunday".
3.10pm
Lord Mandelson gets a standing ovation as he finishes off by telling Conference that he's been involved in the past five election campaigns and he's always known what's going to happen. But not this time. "This time it is not cut and dried. This election is up for grabs," he says.
"So conference, we may be the underdogs. But if we show people that we have not lost the fighting spirit and appetite for change which has defined this party throughout its history then we can and will win
3.08pm
He starts to wrap up with a call for action, telling delegates: "We need to think like insurgents, not incumbents - to challenge, to argue for change, to campaign. To be the real change-makers in British politics."
Tony Blair could not have put it better.
3.05pm
Lord Mandelson says that whatever David Cameron pretends, the Tories have not changed. "The truth is that the old Tory Right that was rejected in 1997 are quietly feeling at home again with David Cameron... That is not change. It's the same old Tory politics."
3.01pm
On to industrial policy and some more ham-acting from his Lordship - falling quiet and cupping his hand to his ear, he asks what the Tories' policies are. "When did you last hear David Cameron or George Osborne last say anything about Britain's industrial future?
"I would ask Ken Clarke but his mobile phone and BlackBerry always seem to be turned off. Or, given that he keeps on agreeing with me, perhaps David Cameron has cut it off."
2.57pm
But, the message is, Labour is doing something. The Business Secretary announces that he is extending the car scrappage scheme for an additional cars and vans to help the car industry.
2.55pm
Lord Mandelson then turns his fire against the Tories, using the tried and trusted line of attack that David Cameron and George Osborne would have "let the recession take its couse."
"I hope these two can find the humility to acknowledge that at every point Tory policy would not just have put the recovery at risk but made this recession deeper, longer, and far, far worse."
No mention of any flibbertigibbets.
2.53pm
Lord Mandelson is getting into his stride now: back from Cabinet disgrace and from the undead of Brussels, he is the living epitome of Labour's determination to fight back.
"Gordon I am proud to serve you in your Government as you lead the fightback against the global recession."
2.50pm
"I was in a hurry to return this party to where it should be - in government to help the hard-working people of our country.
"I know that Tony said that our project would only be complete when the Labour Party learned to love Peter Mandelson," he added. "I think perhaps he set the bar a little high. But the fact is that our project is far from complete."
2.46pm
Lord Mandelson tells delegates how he wanted to return not just to serve the Prime Minister and help fight the financial crisis but - and this is where he's heading - to help serve the party.
"I did not choose this party. I was born into it. It's in my blood and in my bones."
2.44pm
Lord Mandelson has returned to the platform at the Labour Party conference and the old master is camping it up beautifully. "Let me say after these years away, it's good to be back home," he says, before revealing his feelings the day last October when Gordon Brown asked him to return to the Cabinet.
Shock, surprise, apprehension. "I had been in this movie before - and its sequel - and neither time did I like the ending, " he quipped. " But I did not hesitate for too long. The pull was too great."

And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Just in case you missed it, BBC ONE had some footage of Mandy in the canteen after his speech.

I would personally like to nail that slimeball to a cross, pour petrol on him, and fry him to a crisp.
