D2D's for Food
Hypothetical one for you...
Let's just say I am delivering menus for the local indian along with my d2d's, in exchange for a slap-up meal with my missus... And maybe I'm thinking of offering the same service to the local Italian and Chinese. Now, I regularily do three or four different rounds, so for the price of a meal for two, they are getting their menus through the door of about 2000 addresses..... Win/win situation...
I am prepping them in my own time, and they do not make my round take any longer..
But I am presuming this is not allowed? If not, why?

Re: D2D's for Food
The Union I don't think have a position on it.
As a postie I say good on you shows initiative.
RM- They would have a lot to say as basically you will be working as a/for competitor during the time you should be working for them. I do know RM complain if the CWU ask us to deliver leaflets that RM have not been paid for - even if we don't get anything for doing it.

Too many late nights, I thought you meant we should eat the d2ds. I know that the pictures on the pizza leaflets look good but the Sky ones don't look that appealing.

Re: D2D's for Food
Let's say you trip over break your leg and they find these in your bag. You could easily be sacked citing the reason you had over-loaded your bag with non-authorised or weighed mail. You'd have no come-back.
Also if you ever claimed OT you could be done for fraud.
What else, oh yes you'll end up as fat as a RM manager after eating all that crap fast food! And your missus will end up fat too!!!

Re: D2D's for Food
This happened several years ago - but one lad at ours lost his job doing something similar. RM argued he was doing work for another business in their time. Like when managers use ebay in RM time to sell stuff, but different if you catch my drift...
