I don't know, why do you need to wait until thursday to find out? Didn't you go to hospital?!

Ok i am assuming you have hurt your ankle today (sunday) ? or did you do it at work on Sat ?

To think its broken you must be in a large amount of pain, although an xray would show this Instantly and I cant see why you would have to wait till thurs.

If it happened on work sat did you report it ?
If its happened today you will need to phone in sick before or at the time of the start of your duty. Explain the circumstances and I really cant see why they will not understand. With a fracture or even a bad sprain you should not be putting weight on the ankle at let alone attending work.

Make an appointment to see your GP ASAP as you will requires a doctors certificate if you stay off longer than a week.

Lastly try not to get stressed if you really have broken your ankle then there is nothing you can do to help RM other than keeping them up to date.

sometimes after you break a bone you have to go back to the hospital after the swelling goes down as they can't treat it straight away. I broke my arm the other year, the xray showed I had'nt but was still suffering 2 weeks later so they re xrayed it and found the break :arrrghhh
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

In the FA Cup Final of 1956, Bert Trautmann Broke his neck, carried on playing and still went on to win the Cup, so I hardly think a broken ankle is an excuse for shying off in todays vibrant Royal Mail. Get a grip, what are you, a Poof or something. Hope this helps.
