when the employer is declaring all out war on nearly every agreement that has been hard earned in the past plus the aggresive attitude withinthe workplace it is very conveniant too blame the union.but royal mail at the moment would rather not have a union to deal with.royal mail have a remit to save money whether thats being pushed by the govt or the chief executive.the cwu havent been brilliant as the warning signs over phase 4 being totally ignored were almost evident from the start ,still we cant turn back the clock.however we should have a big say if the vote is a big yes.plus the workforce ahould also have a close look at themselves too often the cwu rep are under supported ,under trained so particulary easy to target as not being up to spec.the fees we pay are an insurance policy that hopefully you dont have to use.

replying to the comment leave union think it will eventually happen in our office, the only help i have had from union in my 20 years service his from my otwn union man. what about the talks oni friday a certian union man walked out of the talks in glasgow ,on thwat morning we had our vans taken off of us trying to make us walk , and no direction from any higher union man on what to do (and u know who i mean if you are in scotland that is )

I've been in the union 2 months and have asked them to look into 2 things for me. The first was some education courses. This was going well, the union woman I spoke to seemed to be interested and had my email address from me and even emailed me asking what courses it was I was interested in. I replied 3 weeks ago and have sent follow ups but nothing. The second thing was something to do with shift patterns. I spoke to our area rep who sounded very uninterested and 2 weeks on am still waiting to hear from him despite follow up calls. I will be give it another week or 2 then cancel my subs. I agree with the first post: what do we pay union subs for? Because I have no idea.

might help you.the employer are increasingly going to threaten your terms and conditions.collective wage bargaining which benefits non members as well.

from what you have put down i take it that royal mail have taken executive action?just imagine what your place would be if you had no union.

I know when he and others sought help from higher upthey were massively let-down , but your gaffer is an arse and would trample all over you and your members if you didn't have a rep at local level..!! It might not be of any comfort to you but........"It could be a lot lot worse"...!!! Keep your chin up......
