London posties - 12 days lost amounting to a loss of £1100

Post by Moriarty »

Right, put some clarity to this royal mail statement for me please.

I work in N Ireland, and when I arrived back from delivery today, there was a sheet of paper with RM indoctrination on it!!!

They were basically saying to use my vote to vote 'no'. Sorry RM it's too late, I voted affirmative! Any how, one of their points was a yes vote would mean a vote for London posties. They claim that London posties have recently lost 12 days pay amounting to £1100 loss of earnings. Is that right???? I take it that includes the INNER London weighting, and therefore not affecting those in OUTER London and in the offices bordering the London region, which of course would be less? Does it also include a scheduled attendance or two, D2D payments and potential overtime, or is that really your basic pay?

I want to get my facts right before I go mouthing off to management in the next meeting we have.

I am getting totally demoralised at work and this propaganda is starting to annoy me, along with all the bullying and harrassment within the workplace, and the fact that there is a strong possibility that my union rep will cross the picket line, I am slowly starting to lose my tether!

my Gross this week was £340 which works out at £45.57 per day - so if out for 12 days would be £546.84 - inner london weighting would be approx £142 for the 12 days = £688.84 total - so they must be including overtime and shift payments to up the total.

Same tactic as they used in 2007 - Royal Mail don't do new ideas obviously.

I must add I am based oop North so my figures are rough and based on posts made on here before, so they may be out - but not by £322

Trueblue - How many hours a week you on?

I'm on 40 hours a week and my gross basic was 347.61. Without D2D, SA, and OT, that's 69.52 a day so, x 12 days thats 834.24, alot more than your figure. Forgive me if I'm being thick, it's been a long day. Are you sure your sums are right?

My figures are the same as yours, even taking into account the difference between nett and gross pay would make up the difference.

errrr i think the point here is,why are you questioning ANY RM propaganda, whatever they say is a lie anyway.
I am on a 4 day week,4x10hr shift.
When i strike i lose £69 net,i am outer london, inner London will lose slightly more.
Those on a 5 day week will lose less. From memory £52.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

So it looks like the figure RM has posted could well have been 'massaged' a little!! Not everyone would have lost that amount, as there are different shifts to take into account. Some posties would lose out alot more than others, and yes I am confident that they have thrown in the inner London weighting.

I'm just tired of listening to them now. My union rep believes all this shite too, and unfortunately so do many others.

In fact, there is SO much shite being fed to us, I don't know what is true and what isn't. It seems to be the best policy is to put my fingers in my ears and get on with my job each morning. :evil/mad
