Making it up

Post by jaylime »

After another halfwitted answer to a problem at work today I have a question. Is it me or do RM just take the easy option when theres a problem. What i mean by that is just load the problem onto us to sort out for the inept managers. Its getting ridiculous now i really think the management structure is about to implode on itself.

I've said it before, especially from the park and loop fiasco only to be told 'ahhh, you just work it out'

TBH dgp, I don't know how long you've been a postie, but in 20 years I have never seen things as poorly organised as they are at the moment. The strategy is all wrong, we have competing products, the park and loop is a good idea but it has been organised without real thought, lapsing is a just another strategy to increase delivery times without negotiation. Royal Mail will not survive in its present form - the managers have run out of ideas and are forcing a strike so that they can blame the workforce for failure. Despite this backdrop it will be amazing how targets will be met in order that bonuses are paid to the Board and the Managers.
Reminds me of the old adage "It's the rich what get the pleasure and the poor what get the pain" - so things aren't all bad :chuckle

I agree i am 20 + years and the managers really have not a clue with all these changes.
Take absorbtion this week, one day we had 4 to cover then it became 3 which was a help as it meant we had 6 extra bodies per round to spread the load, right. :Very Happy Wrong
The managers could not be arsed to work out the new walk splits so instead called us round to each absortion frame and put all our names in a hat and drew out the lucky 6 who were told not to absorb that day,but taking no account of each persons delivery span and who was going to struggle nice :mad
Result: Three cut offs and 2 lots of extended del OT. Really smart and well managed................ NOT :left:
But hey they did get out the door by noon. :dance
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
