Quick question about handing in notice

Post by cirby »

Hi

I'm going to be handing in my notice this Friday, but I'm off during the week's notice. Will they say to work that week?

What happens with the uniform, do you return it them?

Thanks

If you have a/l then they can not take that away from you, so looks kike Friday will be your last day, and yes just give your uniform to your line manager..
Well done for escaping and good luck, what do you have lined up?

I wouldn't worry about returning most of your uniform, I think the only thing they actually look back is the stormcoat and the hi viz jacket otherwise (because these other parts of uniforms will be just binned anyway), I'd just keep them and use them for painting, gardening etc.

Your manager will put your last day of service in the man power plan and this will calculate if you have leave to take or over your entitlement. If you are over your entitlement, it will be taken out of your last wage packet. If you have leave left then you can use it in your notice or move your last day of service back.

that sounds a bit longwinded
just calculate the actual working days present at the company and divide by the anuall days.
then times by the holiday entitlement minus days actually taken

I can just imagine lots of those 3rd world countries having loads of people dressed up in surplus RM uniform :chuckle the only reason they'd send it to these countries is to be dumped, sorry recycled  for less than in the UK.
I think they used to send the bikes to Africa but I'm not sure if they still do it.

I know the USO requires us to deliver to some remote places, but that's ridiculous :whistle

Mind you, in the current climate, perhaps the DOM would bark out "...And you WILL complete your delivery within duty time or we'll be taking you off pay'

Well done on escaping the hell-hole bud,

When i left, i just went halfway thru week, didnt give them any notice, fcuk em.

I was paid a full weeks money the week i left, but they clawed it back the week after as they deducted some from the holiday pay i was still owed.

apparently they are bagged up for the Rag Man - they've even used recycled clothes as tyre linings or even as part of the silencer baffles in exhaust pipes .

I agree with DGP - What have those poor b**gers done to deserve having to wear RM uniforms ? - I thought they'd have suffered enough with Mad Tin Pot Dictators in Banana Republics ?
