This is a tough one.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: new postman
I would recommend it, considering the current situation. Although if you wanted to speak to the Rep first. You could actually join up, when you arrive at the Picket Line. The Rep should have some forms with him/her, for anyone who wants to do that. And once you sign the form, you're a Member. You don;'t have to wait for the paperwork to be processed.

In ans to your question you will fit in a 100 times better if you support your work colleages from the start and join the strike. If you decide go in you should not be bullied by anyone and should report any harrasment to a manager.
Personally i think joining the strike and the picket line is a good way to introducing yourself and making new postie friends
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

I know we are going off topic, but the only thing I can see remotely near that date is St Andrews day on Nov 30th.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Jockland one and only parts of it as well I think.shelanda wrote:gazzer wrote:Should imagine your first day is going to be a bit lonely cause 5th October is a Public Holiday lol
