When was the last time........?
When was the last time a DO or MC was visited by Billy Hayes or Dave Ward etc?
A bit of moral support from the upper levels at CWU is needed at the moment.

Re: When was the last time........?
Divisional Reps are not now allowed into the MC.
We are not allowed to hold CWU meetings in the MC either.
We had to hold our last round of meetings in the carpark and in a nearby church hall.
So Dave and Billy would not be able to hold meetings in our MC.

Contact your branch and ask for the rep to come to you.jockstrapp wrote:When was the last time our office was visited by our area rep? (office doesn't have a rep)

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I wasn't refering to a meeting, just a visit to let the workers know that they are behind them no-matter what the papers or other media sources say.baldrick wrote:Divisional Reps are not now allowed into the MC.

Too busy staying in nice hotels and attending 'conferences', all paid for out of CWU members pockets.

Before I have another say I would like to commend you on the way you control this forum.POSTMAN wrote:If they are on official business then the Union will pay, next.OnAFlyer wrote:OK, i'm sure they pay their own hotel bills out of their £100k wages.POSTMAN wrote:errrrr no they aint.OnAFlyer wrote:Too busy staying in nice hotels and attending 'conferences', all paid for out of CWU members pockets.
I started this thread hoping that someone might get in touch with either Billy or Dave and have a quiet word in their ear. Right now there is so much animosity between CWU members that it's starting to have a snowball effect (a lot of people have been crossing the picket lines, including CWU members).
The seniors have to re-assure their members that everything is being done to the best of their abilities, even if some of the members do not agree with some of the ways in which the CWU is handling things at the moment. If they did random visits to just a few of the DO's/MC's it would be sufficient enough to give your members a morale boost. It doesn't have to be on RM property, the pavement is ok.
So if anybody who has read this has Billy or Dave's ear can you please let them know that now is the time to make a few visits.

Re: When was the last time........?
The CWU leadership (
) are more than aware of this site (Postman threatened with legal advice over some postings about Belfast no1 branch) so they do know what we think about them but I don't believe Billy (at least) cares, he seems to be only interested in his political aspirations.

Re: When was the last time........?
we have had a visit from dave ward a few years ago we asked if he could come down and once the wheels were set in motion and times and dates doublechecked everything went like clockwork.
i would imagine as the cwu hierachy do not have the manpower to match royal mail especially in times of i/a that it is difficult to arrange visits from ward and hayes as they are most probably in direct contact with royal mail.

No-one has to know (until they actully turn up) which DO or MC they are visiting.
The members need to know he has gone there just to talk with them and not for some media attracting gimmick.
A man in Billy's position must know that when it comes down to the short and curlies he is the one that carries the full representation of the CWU.
As I have said before on previous threads, I'm not a CWU member, I'm just a concerned member of the public but I do have strong connections with the CWU going back as far as to when it was the UPW.
Don't let your members down Billy, now's the time to show the true mettle of the CWU.
