quote from a cwu member today

Post by topnights »

I transferred about 18 months ago from outer London to sleepy west sussex. Now in office of about 16 walks, (posty pat and all that rural bulls**t). These country boys have been brain washed. 2 or 3 of us (15 year to 30 year seniority) have started picket line organising to try to show strength for once. Rep said to a member in conversation, "I wouldn't do that, it might upset a few people in this office". Today a 5 year postie, or is that 5 minutes, sais " having a picket line you to**er, i'll run you over when I come in to work".
What's it all about? this pri**s a member of the union.
I feel like giving up and all I think is roll on redundancy and get me out of this battle with gutless workers. Why can't we all stick together and don't people realise what is happening to our industry ?????

Our Union rep was against organising a picket line as it was "not worth it just for one day", so we had to do it in spite of him.

let me give you a quote from a cwu "member" today. "i threw my ballot paper in the bin" is this geeza a flippin joke?
another said " i voted no because i dont agree with it" i said, dont agree with what? having a job in a years time? he then said he would support the picket line if it was a yes vote tho. so i asked him why he didnt k=just vote yes then?

what clowns we have working along side us.

OH and so you know, ive been at RM just over 4 years, went on strike and stood at the gates on every single day we was on strike, so even tho some of the people you work with have been here for 5 mins, not all of us are like that, i care about my job and its future, so do alot of the fellas i work with. lets stick together and show our faces on the picket line, even if theres only 5 of you.

we have someone who posts qoutes off the sun, sunday mail on facebook if it is anti union.now taken him off as a friend as cannot afford to tell him a few home truths for personal reasons which i am unable to explain at the moment.the ironic thing he is always the first one to moan about time changes little realising that if a no vote comes in royal mail will be able to do what they want ,when they want.we also have another person who persists on posting anti union cuttings from newspapers on the cwu board,if the roles were reversed there is a fair chance that if it was an active cwu member would be facing some trumped up charge .why do they do this?i dont really know ,whether they think they are keeping in with the management team and will be "looked after " who knows.
