Im a postie at a 15 man office in west sussex. last time only 4 went out, excluding the ex union rep who went in on a national strike.
The area delivery rep for this region has got his local reps going to members asking, if its a yes vote for a national strike, would the members rather go in and do a o/t ban instead. Is this union together or not ?
What gives the Gatwick area the right to question a national strike ballot ?
I give up with it all. If we can't stick together on this big issue then there is no hope.
PS. The area manager is invited to all the reps meetings !! what a joke

That is true, my office is strong and I don't think anyone could say my rep was 'cosy'.shelanda wrote:Don't tar all South East with same brush. We had very strong units too!! Not good to generalise!Geezer wrote:Kick him out and find someone else with a backbone to be your rep.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Sorry Shelanda i was on about the area delivery rep, if what was said is true he needs a good slap to make him see the errors of his ways.

As for all the good Reps, i have nothing but praise, as they use their spare time and energy trying to help us all, and as such have my gratitude and fullest respect.
