The comments are well worth reading too. Particularly when you look at the Ratings. The vast majority of people, are very supportive. And the minority of heartless b******s, have been shown to be unrepresentative.

It's highly unlikley that the Post Office will pay any attention to it. But maybe certain Reporters will take note. And start understanding what the Employees of RMG have to go through. Hopefully, if there's enough "bad press" about it, something might change, before this happens to anyone else. It's already happening at French Telecom: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... lit=france" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:hmmmm

Did some Googling - New Labour gave RM group £ 1.7 billion on condition that the whole PO network was turning a profit by 2011 & inevitably it won't be done subtlety :hmmmm . CEO Alan Cook has already received a £165,000 bonus on top of his £250,000 salary but his salary seems to be piecemeal compared to :lfo & :cfo .

FFS - It's a PO in a Newsagent's Chain shop in a middle England suburb during a recession not Coutts Bank or Lloyds :d'oh! :crazy: :no no , from what I've seen was the closure plan was totally arbitrary & " consultation " was a farcical sham , the busy ones were closed and slack ones stayed open , then a PO Director threatened to stop their redundancy money if they veered off RMG script :no no .

No people skills whatsoever - some of these bean counting idiots in charge and the irony is they lose their best assets whilst the incompetents prosper bit like RM :hmmmm . Sh** always finds it's level . Same problems as anywhere else only taken to literal extremes .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Royal Mail scum wrote:Since 2000, the Post Office has shut around 2,500 branches because it was losing £3.5million a week. A Post Office spokesman would not comment on the suicide note or targets given to managers.

He added: 'We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Mrs Holt and our condolences remain with her family and friends at this difficult time.'

Crocodile Tears :evil/mad

Shame she didn't seek help earlier, she might have seen that there is a life beyond Royal mail, she can bin RM off and run her own shop without a Post Office, call RM bluff, failing that she can shut down the shop and just live on Benefits especially Disability benefit which I think considering her Condition she may be entitled to it, stress free life.

I couldn't agree more with NW Postie - the system fatally ground her down , it has happened and could happen to anybody .

As NW Postie said the doctor could have signed her off OR the Post Office may have wanted to pay her off IF they couldn't sack her first for taking too much time off :hmmmm :hmmmm , OR she could have put her notice in & gone quietly , that MIGHT have been good enough for the Social - I doubt if they could really trip her up as a " malingerer " given the medical evidence ,then had a good holiday etc and she might have ended up on a more even keel and got another job when she was ready :hmmmm :hmmmm

They've already indirectly killed a pensioner off in Blackpool ; I'm sure that crocodile tears BS , RMG have to defensively parrot off was a great comfort to his relatives and family . :no no

I hope RMG/POL is taking this very seriously behind the scenes. Clearly they are not going to publicly admit any liability, and will no doubt point to the fact that according to the article this poor lady had a history of depression. However, many of us have weaknesses we cannot control, or may not be even aware of, until we are put under strain, sometimes by our jobs. There are many in POL at the moment who find the Sales Culture upsetting and stressful, and I hope that Senior Management is taking note. It doesn’t have to go as far as suicide to be severely damaging to individuals and those close to them.
