prep rates?

can anyone let me know what the offical prep rates are for ips sorting and for sorting on your walk . we are being told our pay will be stopped as we are not sorting fast enough, yet when we asked for the prep rates there has been no reply.

prep rate in my office is 25 letters per minute for the entire duration of the prep and that includes collecting mail from IPS/doing missorts/having to stop every 5 minutes to clear flats/packets. Needless to say, nobody can do it not even the ones who come in early

Wtf? I dont speak french but whats with all the jargon...25 letters is highlighted ok, but everything else is gobbledeegook.

Am i thick but i was told the test is for 1 min only into an empty frame and once youve passed thats it they cant do it again, hence no agreed prep rate per duration.

It not just prep on a RM2000 frame thats covered by the national agreement.

I was wondering if being left handed has anny bearing on prep rates.

RM2000 frames are designed for righht handed people i think. The right side wing on the frames are awkward as i have to reach over myself to get the letters in. Also I have to hold the letters in a backwards fashion so they dont go in the frame back to front. Im sure this slows me down a bit.

Oh and out on delivery all the letter boxes are on my right hand side so im reaching over myself to get the letters in the letterbox. Ive had words about changing this round but they said no.

Learn to prep/sort right handed, there are several in my office who all use their right hands.

Most lefties use their right hands for many things (comes from years of training/induction at school), I personally prefer to use my left hand for most things but prep/sort right handed most of the time (if I'm getting tired I'll switch to my left but as it's more awkward having to flip them around).
