Apparently, calls have been made at the TUC/Liverpool conference by Health "experts" to stop wearing high heels in the workplace, due to foot/lower leg injuries.
Does this mean I've got to remove the Hi-Tec/Dr Martens signs from mine? Took me days to get 'em right.
Seriously, the Mrs at 4ft 11 - and a half - inches. has had bad foot problems using high heels/platforms etc. Can't wear them now due to
foot pain when her heel is raised up. Same goes for us "idiots" who wore platforms in the 70's, Gary Glitter/Slade got a lot to answer for.
I hope the new Magnums/Martens are sorted out now. Reports/feedback seem to be favourable, from what I've heard so far.

Disgruntled you will have to start wearing flat shoes now, high heels are obviously the problem with your knees and not the walking and bag weights 
My new Cat shoes arrived on Monday, they are very light and are comfy to wear. I've one blister from them but thats because I wore trainer socks rather than ordinary sports socks.

At my DO, the DOM is always banging on about health and safety, which is all well and good, with proper footwear a major part of his rhetoric. . .
Then you hear the click-click-click of heels walking up and find it's a female DOM in heels or a male DOM in expensive shoes, neither of which could withstand so much as an empty tray bouncing off them, let alone a full one. Or worse, a runaway trough or cage.
My only real concern is that if a DOM is hurt and doesn't make it into work for a while, a new and even more appalling DOM will take their place. Hydra eat your heart out!
