So how many stayed out and how many went in

Post by billypants »

At Sevenoaks delivery office we have just over 150 staff and just 1 non-member stayed on from his night shift

not a bad turnout and we're quite chuffed :Very Happy

the dum poked his head out when it rained to gloat . . . . . . . then later on when most of the picket had turned to the pub he was seen walking up the road wearing just a shirt with a pouch on his back, and it was pissing down. . . . . .looks like we got the last laugh then :Applause

Like yours, ours poked his head out to come and inform us we are only supposed to have 6 on picket line, so we said as long as there's no trouble it's ok. We were on duty from 4.30 till 8.30 then the 2nd shift took over. All drivers going into nearby depot tooting their horns in support. we also had a letter of support from the firemen at Patchway, fantastic effort all round!

with all the support I'm hearing about from other workforces I wonder if the CWU can convince their unions to support us too

In our office we have about 30ish staff:

6 on picket duty,
3 strike breakers (1 lower than the stuff I regularly tred in as he picked up an extra SA which we didn't cover)
1 non union member who went in

The rest obviously stayed at home (in the dry)

2 vans arrived but didn't cross the line - manager came out and unloaded them

Rural Driver (+ some collections)

I believe everything my manager tells me. I also believe in fairies, that pigs have wings and that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Sale Office 100% behind the strike again!

As the rep on the gates whilst the main rep recovers from a damaged foot I must admit I was proud as anything of the members and non members who decided that they weren't taking any more RM shite and stayed outside.

Keep it up, this is only the first step.
