Lads, as you know I got out a few years back.
I need to let you know that nobody cares wether or not you are on strike.
Mr Average gets his post after mid day anyway.
Mr Average has internet banking and all bills paid by direct debit.
Mr Average gets free calls and texts from his mobile phone provider so he communicates with anyone he wants immeadiatly, often free of charge.
And finally Mr Average recieves about 10% of mail in a year that is of any real interest.
Basically, you guys are not being missed and helping to kill a dying beast.
Sorry to be so blatent but that really is how it is.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I really wish you would listen to me and take my advice, there are some really talented chaps in RM and unfortunatly the job makes them too tired to become the man they are capable of and realise their true worth/full potential.
You also know that the people who run RM would be happy with a whole workforce of under 20's mininum wagers.
Becasue they would be on a win-win.
The only way you can win this is by personally working your way onto bigger and better things by seizing control of your life AGAIN.
Keep mocking me but you know i'm right.
If you ignore me RM will leave you on the dole, if not today then tomorrow. Regardless of strikes, votes, action, whatever.

OK Locker Dave (before I get too drunk to type properly) - Mr Average is not the customer and so doesn't matter (according to our esteemed leaders 
) what he thinks, it only matters what the big posters think and they see the post as a cheap form of advertising and are therefore much more worried about the strikes.

Correct perhaps with a bit more clarity here.
The companies sending Post through us are our Customers paying our wages, we provide a free delivery service to all the addresses in UK because of that, its not the people receieving the Mail that is paying our wages as they haven't paid for the service, they may have paid for P&P when ordering goods but its the despatcher that paid into RM account for delivery.

Strange that the Mr Averages on my walk were getting concerned that we were not going on strike - OK some Mail and Torygraph readers who only believe what they read instead of investigating and making their own minds up will always rant and we wont get everyone on side, but come one read the posts on here mate do you really think its all about posturing and pay - get real. Most people I speak to support us, and those that don't certainly have some sympathy with us when I explain what's going on LOCALLY. This problem is a making of the RM and CWU leaders recommending a deal that was a fudge and has since been made worse by different interpretations from both sides.
If RM were as good in Industrial Relations and being as fair and flexible as they say do you really think an Ex-serviceman like me would support the strikes 100% and I have not yet been on strike.
You probably believe that we still do the Spanish Practices Claimed in the Mail and other rags, I have checked that list the only one I get is a £100 Christmas bonus. I work to my time, or over if they pay me Overtime but as they cancelled it one day I no longer wish too, I have never got any extra money on Easter Saturday and I have worked the last 7, I have never received 3 hrs. docket for 10 minutes overtime, (in fact I received no pay for 30 minutes overtime).
Thing that gets me is that because we have an effect on Business they call us Left wing lemmings dancing to the tune of "Red" Union Barons. Two major weakness to that argument, all current strikes are local and the strike days (apart from London) are decided on a local basis not a national one, and most CWU members that I know want us to leave the Labour Party as they are too right wing now, yet the "Left Wing" leaders want us to stay in bed with Labour so we can have some effect on the decision making process - thats a laugh as the PLP even ignore what their own conference says.
