Was out doing my walk and there was a wee crescent of flats beside the drop box I use, so since I would be passing the box again not long after, I took out the crescent's mail and put my bag in the box so I could get round it quicker ( inside the box was also the rest of my walks mail - a full red pouch's worth - the final third ). So I do the delivery and one flat I cant get into for second day running so I endorse the mail No Access and do the rest.
This is when im up s**t creek.
The key wont work. I try and try and try and it will just turn a bit and then kinda jam. I keep trying but nothing and I know the key worked because I had already used it twice this morning and in the days before. So im left with a handful of undeliverable mail, a box full of mail im supposed to be delivering and my bag which I cant get to.
I go to nearest post office but its closed, I try phoning my coach ( the only number I have, im not long started ) but his phones off - go to next nearest post office and ask if they have a spare key which they dont or the number of the relatively small local delivery office I work in and again they dont. So I need to get rid of the undeliverable mail I cant take it home so some elastic bands round it and bit of paper at front stating my office and my walk number ( since blue pouch is also in the box ) and its been left with Post Office.
So I then race to my DO and its locked and shut.
No other option but to go home ( 5 mins round corner from DO ) and here I am.
WTF do I do now
Im gonna get done for WD or somethin but there was no deliberate motive to not deliver the mail!
