Mail in postbox + post offices

Post by geoffxxuk »

I know a guy who is at the (Edited by POSTMAN)and he takes about 2 bags of heavy mail to the post office and throws some in the red post boxes because he can't manage to finish on time. Has anyone done this so that they can get home early or had enough? I believe that all the mail should be delivered but I have a few mis-sorts that I put in the red post boxes. What does everyone think to this guy because I think he'll get the sack soon once he gets found out and there's no point because he'll only get it back the next morning so his mail will be even more heavier the next day.

But is it his fault that he's getting put out at ridiculous times and only contracted until 2? I know it's willful delay but something must be going off in management.

EDIT: What I mean by red boxes are the red post boxes that the public put mail in

The guy will get sacked even sooner now that you have posted his whereabouts. If he has a problem with his duty he should seak help or advise. Why does the post office accept the mail if there is alot. They must know somethings not right here.

I understand it's not my problem and that I shouldn't be bragging about his whereabouts but we're getting paid to do the job right plus there might be important letters within that bag that the public are expecting that day. I don't know why the Post Office accept it but they do round here. I guess it just all goes back to the office the next day. I understand how he must feel because I got s**t on in that office with industrial action there and everything. Plus I didn't get the correct training and the DOM there didn't have time for me. So I jumped ship and got a transfer.

It's gonna catch up with him sooner or later and he will pay a hefty price when it does. Is this guy oldish or youngish. Just curious.

Youngish. I don't think any of the older posties leave any mail. All gets delivered with them.

I've told him about the consequences and that he is almost certain to be sacked if he carries on but he just doesn't seem to listen. *sigh* I guess there is only so much you can tell your co-workers.

Any letter with an orange RM tag code can be traced to when it was first processed, and likewise excessive CFC (stamped) mail already franked but going through again always gets flagged. The IB nearly always get involved with this, and when they do, someone ends up clearing out his/her locker..........
