Re: flexibility agreement
Phase 4 - I think it said improve relationship with Cwu union rep. Is this happening??? And consult with changes??? Or is it force changes, but if you read on it does goes about implenting them by a certain date.
Again this could be a failing in our Cwu head office???

Re: flexibility agreement
It appears to me that all the past agreements that the cwu have with Royal Mail are not legally binding, and therefore what difference is another agreement going to make, because when it suits Royal Mail to disregard them they do, and we end up with yet another fight. If we do ever reach any sort of amicable settlement, the cwu should provide the national press with a full copy of the document, so it can provide the information to all. Perhaps we will not get the snidy comments from ill informed idiots, when we have to take up arms for our rights, against these selfish idiots running this company, who have no respect for health and safety, the welfare of workers, or the general public. Many of them are blisfully unaware that they have a personal responsibility for the health and safety of workers in the workplace, and it will not be long before an employee takes up a private prosecution against one of them. Lets see if there big bonuses will cover a huge damages claim then.

Re: flexibility agreement
I may be wrong but I thought National Agreements between Royal Mail and the CWU were legally binding as they form part of our contract of employment and if RM breaches a contract then they are liable.
The problem with the Pay and Mod agreement is that is was open to far too much interpretation from both sides and thats why we are in this mess. I did say so at the time http://overpaidunderworked.blogspot.com ... te-no.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

WELL WHAT IS MY VIEW
I am sorry but I can personally see no major changes from the offer that brought us out on a 2 48hour strikes and this new one. Okay there is more Union involvement in local and national issues but the main reasons I supported the strikes have not been addressed merely delayed. It is my honest view that if we accept this agreement then the Union will be damaged and Royal Mail will be a less enjoyable place to work. However one real concern I have is that this agreement is far to open to interpretation from both sides, and an (sic) agreement this important needs to be more detailed and explicit.

Re: flexibility agreement
Pretty sure agreements between unions and employers are not legally binding, they are binding in some other countries Germany for example. They do form part of your terms of employment but they can be changed. with or without agreement for example under exec action.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I may be wrong but I thought National Agreements between Royal Mail and the CWU were legally binding as they form part of our contract of employment and if RM breaches a contract then they are liable.
