Got a brief from the manager this morning that we were now able to order DM's again as well as CAT boots, low and behold, todays toilet roll, sorry, Courier confirms it on page 15, (saves you skimming through the rest fo the rubbish to find it).

About time we had an alternative to those craptastic Magnums, at least we wont be slipping about all over the place now, they'll also be a lot comfier for standing out on the pickets.

I got a pair of the new style magnums and have found them very comfy with a good grip, I was warned about slipping, but three weeks in... no slip ups !!

I'll be getting the CAT boots, break them in slowly. They're lighter than the Doc Martens and you can still wear your shorts without looking like a walking S&M advert.

How do you break boots in slowly. ?

This may not go down well wiht some, but liberal amounts of bootpolish will help to soften the leather quicker too.

Wear them at home for an hour or so a day, it may take a couple of weeks but once they're broken in, they're the best boots I've ever worn. I agree about the boot polish, dubbing also helps and makes them nice and shiny.

Although the 'new' style magnums are better on grip they can still be deadly on certain surfaces such as the pre-moulded driveways and metal drain covers, and they still don't last me more than 8 weeks, they wear out too quickly and the soles start to come away after a couple of weeks, also I've not tried the 'new' style in winter in snow and ice so I bet they wouldn't compare to doc's or cats...I'll be ordering a pair of doc's tomorrow I think.

is everything they write in the courier crap?

Old army trick that, but it can discolour some boots, and leves them looking bleached out
