I am sure alot of you are aware that the CWU is requesting a regrade of our job as it has changed so much in the 5 years since starting, the old timers on here remember the job when it was based at the Mail Centres. Since creating new sites the job is paid £70 a week less than now, so as a basis they have saved £12.7 million pounds so far, just based on current staff levels.
Of course we are never going to see half of that as the MDEC is not included in any effiency savings, we don't even have targets for the forthcoming finnacial year.
Thank god that the CWU raised the point of regrading and it has gone through conference for action.
Of course the downside to this is that out of 800 staff at the MDEC in Plymouth, theres about 350 members of the CWU and we really need each and every one of them to either picket tomorrow or stay away, otherwise when the regrading comes up I can simply see RM saying we are not going to do anything about it knowing all to well people at the MDEC want something for nothing or cannot simply afford to loose a days wages.
SO COME ON MDEC, MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS STAND UNITED TOGETHER. OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE NO COMEBACK WHEN RM SIMPLY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE US. REMEMBER WHO IT IS WHO GOT THE MDEC SUPPLEMENT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, WHO'S FIGHTING FOR A BETTER BONUS

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL
It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
