ANY OFFICES GOT A BACKLOG ??

Post by wardroom »

Have any offices got a backlog due to any Executive action, and how long do you think it will take to clear.

We have got a back log but not due to exec action, they have tryed taking duty's out and then replacing with part time staff,we use to have S/A's for sorting but they have stopped all of those as well, the DIM said we have not got the traffic to warrent the hours or jobs so has taken staffs duties and employed part time staff in there place, the out come of this mess is 58 york's of mail just decorating the place with more due in,staff cutting off, staff doing just thier duty time and no more, they are repping what they have sown.

We don't have a backlog, but I think that is down to the strikes in London slowing the mail down. :Applause It isn't light, just manageable, and no Exec Action either...Yet.

What happened to the full timers that were on the duties?

Have they not grasped the concept that the summer lull might have been be a bit lighter than normal?

We had a fairly light summer, better than last year, but yesterday it was just like every year the mail picks up again and today seem to to have plenty as well.

I think management have got it into their heads that the summer lull lasts all year! :arrrghhh

Yes, and at least a week even with the overtime they are paying extra sorters. The service has gone from clear office to nowhere to move for Yorks full of leftover mailsort and packets.

a huge backlog of pkt, stuff been there for well over 3 weeks now, and we've been on strike for 1 day, the guys just arent willing to help the managers clear it and managers dont give a toss whats there, is that not a case for wilful delay on managers part? :no no after all first class or 2nd class packets should be treated the same as a first or second class letter yes? and its nearly xmas, let the fun begin

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
